Wordpress.org has launched WordPress 5.0 “Bebo” with a block-based editor, new themes and developer features. It brings huge upgrades to editors in the Blog management tool. WordPress 5.0 is available in 37 languages.

WordPress is a content management system (CMS) which empowers more than 30% of the web.

The block editor is huge but is not enough. Some changes are included;

  • All the previous themes i.e. twenty-ten to twenty eighteen are now upgraded to twenty-nineteen, which shows off the power of the editor. It also has the features like whitespace, sans-serif headlines and system font which increase loading speed.
  • The accessibility of content you write can be now improved as simply as ARIA labels can be saved in posts and pages.
  • This version supports the upcoming PHP 7.3.
  • Here, one can add translatable strings to JavaScript code directly.

The current WordPress editor entails knowledge of shortcodes and HTML to function, but the Gutenberg editor makes this easy with the help of segmenting into little blocks. For those Who prefer the classic editor, this new version has a new classic editor plugin which supports through 2021. This plugin restores the previous editor and a new edit post screen.

The End
